Australia's biggest and greatest fun run, Run with the LAW, is now open to everyone.

Join us and you can run, have fun, meet new friends, raise funds and make a difference to the lives of children and adults living with an intellectual disability.

As a lead up to the Special Olympics National Games in Adelaide in April, police officers around Australia will take the 'Flame of Hope' through 40 cities across six states and territories in 29 days to support Special Olympics Australia, the charity that transforms the lives of people with an intellectual disability through regular sports participation and social inclusion.

The 2010 Run with the LAW fun run aims to promote equality, acceptance and friendship of people with an intellectual disability, and you're invited to be part of this history-making event.

The Victorian Legs of the "Run with the Law" Torch runs are in Wodonga on Thursday 8 April @ 12.30pm; Melbourne CBD Friday 9 April @ 11.40am and in Geelong on Sunday 11 April @11.35am.

To be part of one of the 3 "Run with the Law" torch legs in Wodonga, Melbourne CBD or Geelong,  register by going to the "Run with the Law" website:

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Special Olympics Victoria State Board

Special Olympics Victoria (SOV) is establishing a new State Board. The Board will bring new skills and talents to complement the existing people who have a vast knowledge of Special Olympics Victoria, its athletes, coaches, volunteers and its history. This exciting initiative requires Board members who are strategic thinkers as well as those experienced in business management, information technology, marketing, fundraising, event management and of course sport.

Special Olympics is a not for profit volunteer organisation providing year round sports training and competition for children and adults with an intellectual disability. We offer a supportive, safe and structured sports and social environment where people with an intellectual disability are accepted, included and can achieve their best.

If you are interested in being considered for this new Board, please complete the Expression of Interest form attached & a brief summary of your background and experience.  Or, if you know of someone who may be interested and prepared to be considered for the Board, pass on a copy of the form and summary sheet to them.
